we would walk on the beach in our bare feet

8:44 PM

My mom's always joked that it snows every year on her birthday.  Which is in April.  With the mild winter Utah has had this year, I seriously thought we'd avoid that.  Oh no.  It's snowing outside.  And then, wait for it, MOSTLY SUNNY on Sunday and MOSTLY SUNNY on Monday, then RAIN, RAIN, SNOW Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.  I don't understand.

So here I am.  Wallowing in my cold sorrow, listening to my summer playlist.  Willing a tan to wash over my skin.  "I can see youuuu, your brown skin shining in the sun."  Sigh.  I would say that it was coming soon... but I honestly don't know when summer will be official.  July?  I remember countless times screaming inside for want of snow while living in Tahiti... what a joke.  Don't get me wrong.  I love snow in December, January, and February.  But it's April.  It's time to move on, man.

The first five, er more like six, represent my top five of all-time kinda thing.  Gosh, I hate using that phrase.  I'm sorry but what does "of all time" even mean?  Of all YOUR time being alive?  Of all time ever ever to ever exist?  I don't understand.  Anyway, let's just say that those first five have always been my summer songs, and always will mean something to me pertaining to sunshine.  The latter nine are just what I'm jammin' to right now.  But still good songs.

Summer can't come fast enough.  Even if I'm not in an island in the sun like last year.  Oddly enough this picture was taken in January...

That's what I'm talking about.
