and the anchorperson on tv goes...

4:55 PM

Plz don't make fun of me.  But before two weeks ago, I had never been to a concert.  I know, right? I probably love music more than/as much as any other concert goer.  Like, I know a ton of music.   Unless you're so super hipster, I've probably heard of your favorite band.  Fo reals.

As for my music taste, I like a wide variety.
~I'm kind of a sucker for pop music.
~In fact, I may or may not like Justin Bieber.  It's up for debate.
~And I legit like Justin Timberlake.  And The Black Eyed Peas.
~I love singing in the car.  Cue pop music.
~No better feeling than being able to keep up with a rap song.  So I like rap too.  But only in moderation.
~I do not like country.  And I never will.
~Nor do I really like techno.  Or screamo.  Or heavy metal.
~I dig the classic rock, Fleetwood Mac, Don Henley, and especially the BEATLES.
~I love classical music, and I'm not just saying that.  I would listen to it of my own free will, and I often do on Sundays.
~I enjoy many a' 80's song.
~I LOVE Michael Jackson.
~I love some good percussion.
~My jams are chill, laid back, often acoustic with meaningful lyrics.
~My favorite bands are Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie, The Hush Sound, The Killers, The Beatles, and Third Eye Blind.
~So I guess you could say that I'm more into the soft rock scene.  With a hint of indie.  Vampire Weekend, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Two Door Cinema Club, sturff like that.

As for the concerts we went to, they were epic.  I have now been to two, and both of them were bands that I was already familiar with: The Decemberists and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.  It was a good party, with good friends and much laughter.

That be me, Ross (coworker), Sarah (roommate), and Codie (works with Sarah).
And this is her photo, bee-tee-dubs.

Highlight #1: Sixteen Military Wives, the audience would join in on the la dee da parts.

Highlight #2: June Hymn.  Cuz there's a part that says summer comes to Springville Hill.  And I'm from Springville and stuff.

Highlight #3: This was ALL I wanted to hear from Edward Sharpe.  I could die happy after they played this.  "Home is wherever I'm with you."

Slowly, but surely, I'm crossing things off of my bucket list.  And concerts are definitely something that I can't believe that I've been missing my whole life.  It's such a unique mixture of people, united for the power behind the music.  I love it.  It's such a rush to be there and listen to the sound on a much deeper level - you use so many more senses than you do just listening on your iTunes.  And it reminds me every time how much I love music.  Nothing can quite transport you to a time in your life like hearing a familiar song can.  There's something really special about that.

Can I tell you how excited I am to see Death Cab for Cutie in a few weeks?  You better believe it, I'm goin' crazy with anticipation.  I loooooove this stuff.... Smile.
